What is the microbiome?

The collection of bacteria that lives on your skin (and under your arms) is called the skin microbiome and it protects you from external invasion, which could cause infections. When it comes to armpits and underarm odour, there are certain bacteria that smell absolutely fine and others that cling to sweat and cause body odour.
How does the formula work?
Awake Organics unique natural deodorant is designed to work with your skin’s own microbiome, and enable your good smelling bacteria to temporarily out-compete the stinky ones. It contains both Ogliosaccharides from Arrowroot (prebiotic food for your good bacteria) and Lactobacillus ferment (probiotics), which promotes the right Ph for your good bacteria to thrive. With extra food and the right conditions, your good bacteria knock-out the smelly ones, leaving you smelling fresh all day. Our probiotic deodorant formula also takes advantage of nourishing Hemp seed oil, rich Shea Butter, Candelilla wax and Magnesium to create a thin barrier on your skin, which helps prevent odour as well.
